Student & Staff Recognition

This month, iTECH would like to highlight the Practical Nursing cohort that is expected to graduate on May 14th! This group of students has worked incredibly hard to reach this milestone. While studying can be extensive and rigorous, nursing students must also apply their skills in everyday clinical settings. They are now preparing to take the ATI-NCLEX prep exam, which will determine if they will receive the 'Green Light' to proceed. Earning the 'Green Light' means that the ATI Nurse Educator believes the student is prepared to take the NCLEX exam and pass it to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. We are so proud of all the hard work these students have put into their education! Congratulations PN students!

As we celebrate the graduation of our Practical Nursing cohort, iTECH would like to highlight our dedicated practical nursing instructor, James Leavor. When asked about his beginnings in the healthcare industry, he shared that he worked as a hospice nurse for over three years and then served as a state healthcare inspector for over six years. In 2016, James joined the iTECH family and has been an invaluable team player ever since!

When discussing his favorite aspect of teaching the PN program, James stated, "I find it rewarding to provide quality education to a local community like Immokalee. While anyone can become a nurse, I strive to develop respectable, honest, and skilled nurses who are confident in their abilities as they go out and serve the community." Mr. Leavor has positively impacted many lives in our community by preparing individuals for careers in healthcare. He has provided them with a pathway to a better future, enabling them to pursue a vocation that is greater than themselves.

Instructors may not always fully realize the impact they have on their students, but it all begins with how we engage with them. Our students take the knowledge, skills, and experiences gained in the classroom to serve our community effectively.

Thank you James for all you do for your students, keep up the great work!
